    Raleigh, N.C. - The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

North Carolina Real Estate Commission

  • Judy Greenhill (Catawba County) - Greenhill is broker/owner of Classic Properties of the Catawba Valley, LLC.

    The board works to license and regulate real estate brokers and salesmen. The term length is three years.

North Carolina State Building Commission

  • Matthew Messick (Forsyth County) - Messick is a partner at Walter Robbs Callahan & Pierce Architects PA.

    The commission develops procedures to direct and guide the state's capital facilities development and management program. The term length is three years.

North Carolina Board of Landscape Architects

  • Margaret Nealon (Mecklenburg County) - Nealon is a partner at LandDesign. This is a reappointment.
  • Christine Hilt (Wake County) - Hilt is the president of CLH Design, PA.

    The board approves exam candidates and issues permits and licenses to landscape architects. The term length is four years.

Aviation Development Task Force

  • J. Leonard Martin (Forsyth County) - Martin is an aviation consultant and is involved in de-icing operations and consulting.

    The task force's purpose is to submit a comprehensive report and recommendations to the Secretary of Transportation for the enhancement of the state's aviation programs. The term length is one year.

North Carolina Board of Architecture

  • Robert Bishop (Durham County) - Bishop is president of the Durham office of Little Diversified Architectural Consulting.

    The board ensures that only persons with a minimum level of competence are permitted to practice architecture and that practicing architects act according to professional standards. The term length is five years.

North Carolina Alarm Systems Licensing Board

  • Larry Proctor (Guilford County)- Proctor recently retired as co-owner of Sedgefield Lawn and Garden and Sedgefield Outdoor Equipment.
  • Ralph Gregory (Wake County) - Gregory is the president/CEO of Security Force.

    The board has the authority to approve, deny, suspend, revoke and/or take disciplinary action against applicants for those licensed by the board. The term length is three years.

North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors

  • Angela McDonald (Scotland County)- McDonald is a licensed professional counselor and associate professor at UNC-Pembroke School of Education.
  • David King (Camden County) - King is a licensed professional counselor/senior analyst recently retired from the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Jennifer Bressler (Guilford County) - Bressler is the owner of Counseling Associates of the Triad PLLC.
  • Dr. Arthur Costantini (New Hanover County) - Costantini is a psychology professor at UNC-Wilmington. This is a reappointment.
  • Rev. George Greer (Nash County) - Greer is pastor of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Rocky Mount.

    The board examines and approves the qualifications of applicants for licenses and issues or renews licenses to successful applicants. The term length is three years.

Domestic Violence Commission

  • The Honorable Pamela Hanson (Carteret County) - Hanson is the Clerk of Superior Court.
  • Dare Spicer (Randolph County) - Spicer is executive director of the Randolph County Family Crisis Center.
  • Kate Stahlman (Union County) - Stahlman is a co-founder of Compassion to Act. This is a reappointment.

    The commission assesses statewide needs related to domestic violence and assures that necessary services, policies and programs are provided to those in need. The council also coordinates and collaborates with the Council for Women in strengthening existing domestic violence programs and establishing new programs. The term length is two years.

North Carolina Historical Commission

  • Dr. Jerry Cashion (Wake County)- Cashion has emeritus status on the commission. He has been chairman of the commission since 2001.

    The board advises and assists the Secretary of Cultural Resources and oversees the rules and regulations for acquisition, disposition, preservation and use of materials of historical, archaeological, architectural and other cultural value. The term length is six years.
