As per the Washington Harbor Alliance:
Dick Knight Express: Robert “Dick” Knight is a resident of Kinston, NC. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida A & M University and a Master of Arts Degree from the University of North Colorado. He plays trumpet, alto sax, Flugel horn and sings. He will be performing as a one man band at MITS. However, his musical career is packed with big-name musicians.
Dick played full-time on first trumpet with
James Brown and with
Otis Redding. Playing backup for artists like
Rufus Thomas,
Dionne Warwick,
Gladys Knight,
Major Lance,
Jackie Wilson, and
Patty LaBelle & the Blue Bells is quite and impressive list as well. Those high notes on trumpet are sure to excite and entertain the crowd.
