Comments for Please Honor Those Who Are Being Dishonored !

Invite those who hold the South dear, to honor those who gave their all to protect those that they loved from the tyranny of invasion and occupation, to participate in a memorial service at the Confederate Monument in Oakdale Cemetery

I figured it was either a bad colonoscopy or insurrectionist planning at Camp Clan. Hope you are in good health.

Van Zant: I am back from my self imposed hiatus, and ready to rock'n'roll here on ENC NOW. BBB, and everyone else, should treat one another as they wish to be treated, and generally, folks will let you know just how they wish to be treated by the prior words they speak and write.

And yes again, I am back after getting my head and heart wired straight together for the fight against rampant Institutional Corruption, which is yet to come.

Time to choose up sides, and I well suggest we all choose up well. Lord Knows I have, and I am metaphorically primed to "Fly to the Football," and make that impactful hit, just as solid as I did 53 1/3 years ago as a varsity linebacker, then as a sophomore at 15 years of age, when playing on one of the toughest, most talented, and all round best Pam Pack football teams in WHS history.

The team I choose will be full of that same metal; those that can take a hit, and lay hard another at double fold.

Go TEAM!

Stan - BBB is actually being more respectful to you than with most folks. Maybe it was because you were very kind in pointing out his untruth. I recollect him responding to other posters that quoted MLK as advocating for the KKK!

As we approach another May memorial season I think about the words of Patrick Cleburne. He was prophetic about what would be taught to children in schools if they lost on the battlefield.

You're right. You did mention him. (eye roll)

Big Bob: Martin Luther King is mentioned often - www.beaufortcountynow.com - in this publication, so your words once again ring hollow.

The cancel culture directed against Soutern history is outrageous.

As to Martin Luther King, Jr. his famous admonition that people "should be judged on the content of their character instead of the color of their skin" has been cited quite a few times on this site, and it is a good principle to live by instead of the Marxism and rasism of DEI.

To this day there is no mention of DR. King on MLK day in January. Not a word in the BO.

Thanks JMan for your future inspiration here on EasternNCNOW.com to tell the story straight; a complicated tale of great besmirchment, and incredible dishonor for the many who only wished to protect their homeland in their part of America that was theirs to cherish and defend.

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this publication. I look forward to civil discourse with people of substance, values, morals, and an appreciation for history and heritage.

The history of this Constitutional Republic is complicated in context, while also remaining profound in purpose.

As marred as our history may appear in terms of inequity, the sustained history of this great nation's diverse citizenry is also one of greatness in deeds past; sacrifice performed, so immensely profound, so great in selfless altruism defending our many freedoms yet preserved ... whether we deserve that immense benefit or not ... we are richly blessed.
