I have been more than tired / more than resting and not making comments today. I end my day with this catch up on important posts.
I view the proof that the Bible is accurate because it is the only book which tells its story showing BOTH the good and bad in it's characters of the Old Testament. People can change history to fit their outlook and the winners always write the history---true or not. The beauty of America is that it is a "work in progress." We have ideals which we have done better --- and sometimes not so good. The time of slavery was bad in some ways and not so bad in others. I share a quick story of NYC and the Staton Island Ferry parking lot. We camped there overnight under a light. The next morning I took the do out and met a man awaking from his sleep on the bench. He was black and asked me where we were from. I answered, "Loris, SC." He startled me with his recognition and the fact he was from Mullins, just up the road. His summation was, "I ain't gonna crop no mo 'bacco." My thought was, "Your cousins may live in a shack back in the South, but they, at least, have a roof over their heads and food to eat!" Once freed, the slaves were not even welcome to follow Yankee soldiers and share any food from them. It is bad to get freedom, but no respect. I call it "pseudo-freedom."

GS: Glad you are back. Bobby Tony ran the Flag up and down the pole. NASCAR is mentioned. All the monuments in Metro are being replace with those of Civil Rights leaders. That will solve all problems.

Perfect one Ted ... minimalist logic reigns supreme.
Many of my family, on all sides, fought for the CSA cause. Most did not own slaves ... just believed that they were defending their property and their rights. That's all. They were warriors, and fought for their nation.

Preach about God / preach about 20 minutes means a 2 page treatise is a good sermon you can read in about 10, it you can read---that is!

On my last visit with Buddy, he told me of how California growers got 200 cutting from him, then paid no attention to the instructions that you don't fertilize them of they die. 2 are not still alive. Our old winemaker knows his stuff!

I wish you would do a story on Bennett Wine, Stan. It is the best I have ever had. Buddy is trying to now got international with Chinese interest. If he had moe financial backing, Beaufort County could be more than famous . . .

I remember Bennett Vineyards before there was a vineyard, when it was owned by Bob Godley, Buddy's wife's brother.
All of those are Southerners, and all of those always voted for me as a county commissioner. So we must think alike on some issues that matter. There will always be bad people, evil people amongst us, but, we need to look for the good in others, and prune the withered and decaying branches from the human race. Let justice take its toll.

All "Us Southerners" do not think alike. Our squadron commander was Black in VN as was 10 percent of the technicians and officers. Just a suggestion, take Stan to Bennett Wine Farm and just sit and listen to what some of "Us Southerners" believe.
I doubt he and I think exactly alike. Open you circle of friends?

Ted---you live in the same Atlanta metro I grew up in. A black person speaking perfect British English blew my mind years ago on a visit I made to England.
Us Southerners expect the slang of the black south and that does not exist in England---except for the Cockney accents of the lower classes. All societies make a quick distinction over the way a person speaks . . .

If any of you guys think for one minute "Hate is gone," you have never lived in a small southern town. "Class and Cast in Southern Town" is another famous sociology study of the South. You can Google it after reading the PDF I gave you.

Compared to America's past, compared to most nations now, there is little racism in America today.
What is very dangerous is the Race Baiters and Democrats, who use Race as a major issue to win elections, since they know little of Free Markets, Public Safety, Foreign Policy, Winning Wars, and the U.S. Constitution. Why are all Race Baiters and Poverty Pimps Democrats? I think that answers to what is true in today's America.

I do not hate that you brought up your position to make your point known on hate; however, I hate that I mistakenly, once again, signed your Morning Muse, although I don't hate to admit it that I find them refreshing, in a minimalist capacity, and would not hate claiming them as my own.
Don't you just hate it when I drone on so about all this.
