Good tests are a starting point for good help = KNOW THYSELF!

I thought it was spelled "suppository," Stan . . .

Way too much supposition.

Stan--- You sound like the alcoholic who has gone so straight no one can drink around him without a sermon on abstinence!!!

If you burn your wild oats as a youth, it's not hard to be suddenly "too righteous to fart when you get old," good buddy!

Gene, You just don't appreciate clarion thought (Not that there is anything wrong with that).

Look, I know how it is for you guys; I was a Liberal once, but that was a long time ago.

Like you, I was self satisfied in my limited knowledge of the real world, and I, too, would use hyperbole as a way of communicating ideas; however, I didn't yell so much (Why the caps in every post, every comment?). There is one difference between young Liberal Stan, and the older Liberal Gene; I could do math, still can.

Had you fed your brain, Stan, instead of fertilizing your prejudices of youth---you just MIGHT appreciate those who "agree to disagree with you," my brother! Without calling them vile names, I might add . . .

I took a course in Sociology, Philosophy, and learned how useless they were, and I was an 'open minded' hippie, conforming to nonconformity, seeking the wisdom of the ages.

I was certainly no Conservative then, and still I sensed the truth of it.

Gene, for someone who constantly contends that they are unbiased politically - a moderate - you certainly do much defending of the Liberal, while bashing the Conservative.

Stan---had you ever taken a college course in Sociology, as I did my freshman year, the wise person ultimately concludes:

*All cultures are different on their exact laws (mores).
*The purpose of culture is to keep people of the same area from killing and hating all the time.
*The 10 Commandments of the Hebrews were basic rules of their culture
*Most of them are violated by Conservatives of today = Thou shalt not steal, lie, commit adultery . . .
*Thou SHALT honor your parents --- which means they know more than you and when they tell you "NO" at the candy counter---quit yowling and shut up if you lose your ability to control them!

Most Conservatives I know start scheming when they are in the minority to find ways to rule despite the rules of voting proven to be good in the past!!!!

PERHAPS, your constant view that Conservatism is always right / Liberals always wrong could find some respect --- had you ever cracked a book on various societies around the world---which are all different from us, BUT have a way to get along which works for them. . .

The older I get, the less I am tolerant of those that present a world that is so far removed from the one where I learned right from wrong.

For them, it is a relative existence, where there are no absolute truths.

I agree with you and Ted: Life is a quantifiable issue, political speak is not.

When I originally started this as a comment I was trying to point out that these test are not truly accurate. If you do some research you will find that almost all of these test are generated from a specific political perspective. The original Nolan test was conceived by a libertarian. He posed the questions to deliberately show that a left and right view was too simplistic. He also designed the questions to move everyone toward the center. Numerous versions exist and each one I have suggested will generally put you in the same quadrant. You know why? They have carefully avoided the flame words, war, abortion, capital punishment, law and order and sexual preference. This was done to try and convince the test takers that we are all not that far apart and make the libertarian view seem more mainstream.
I think Ted McD has hit the nail on the head. By our deeds not by your words. I'm sure I heard that somewhere before.
But for the sake of debate here is another longer version.

Gene,

With every string of words you write, you are a classic Liberal. Now you are equating me with the Nazis. That is a classic Liberal cliche.

What's next? Racist. Wait, you've done that too already by insinuation.

Simple way to find yourself. I may write an article. On the breakfast table put, all your diplomas, VA medals, love letters, everything physical that says who you are. That is who you are.

Stan---Why is it easier to point a finger and try to positonize someone TO YOUR SPECS OF CONSERVATISM??? I have taken 3 --- THREE --- test now which put me just to the left of center and you try to say I am a "liberal."

It appears you are becoming like the folks in Germany who called Jews "RATS" before they sent them to ghettos and ultimately Auschwitz . . .

Learn World History and learn Math, quit whining about 'Hate', drop the liberal buzz speak, and you might have a chance to begin to stop being a Liberal ("Not the there is anything wrong with that").

I just took the 3rd test = just left of center and in the up/down middle!

Keep on calling me a "far-left liberal" and I may have to crank the chipping machine!

Thanks for the renewal of the post to the front page, Stan!

Instead of "far left of center" as you label me --- I am just outside the Moderate box in one and on the edge with the other test, brother --- OOPS on your label!

Kiss me on the cheek, Stan --- I have brought you another good buddy with my posting to Facebook friends . . .

Well Bobby Tony, I reckon your score should pretty close to mine.

I'd like to think that this is what you vets did all that fighting for; regardless, I will always give you the credit for it.

In my eighteen years as a county commissioner, I never voted for a politician, or anyone else for that matter, other than a Veteran to have a bridge, or road or building named after them.

My policy has always been: "Find me an honorable vet, preferably one that died in service of his country, and then I'll vote on the naming of the public property, which meant I usually voted no, because politicians lover honoring other politicians.

I reckon, I have pissed off a bunch of insiders in my time. That will probably continue.

I took your test.

I haven't changed that much from whence I was a commissioner, maybe a little more Libertarian. Actually, I scored for the rights of the individual: 70% on Social, 100% on Economic.

I still consider my self a Conservative, but defined it better here: beaufortcountynow.com
