Beaufort County Schools are building a new school on the same ground where Eastern Elementary already exists, at a cost of $10,500,000.00 to Beaufort County's Taxpayers. Is this a wise expense of taxpayer dollars at this time?
21.74% Yes, Beaufort County has been awarded a 42 million dollars of grant money from the state of North Carolina (FREE MONEY) to construct school at 3.00 per squ. ft.
67.39% No, this is the wrong time, to build the wrong school, on the wrong placement - its lowest point - of Eastern Elementary's existing location, when community schools work best.

As I grow older, I am reverting back to my years of listening to music.
 
"Mona Lisas and Madhatters", from Elton John's Honky Château, was that special ballad of heart wrenching sincerity, forever etched on the collective soul of generation, which saved a lyrical moment in time, and became a gift to so many.

Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits holds a special place in my musical heart for many reasons; not least of which, Dire Straits, led by the Knopfler brothers, came onto the musical scene with their first album, Dire Straits, 1978, at the height of the dreaded Disco craze.

I happened upon an early recording of Iris Dement's "Our Town" from the early 1990's, a song that played a large part in classic TV series Northern Exposure's swan song. That memorable last TV show signing off this beautiful classic really stuck with me.
