Growing up for each of us is so different. My friend next door had a father who was a butcher, so guess what; they ate a lot of meat. His cousin, who lived one floor below him, had a dad who was a mechanic. He owned his own gas station and repair shop.

I am in the helping profession. As a doc, I get to help people everyday. Not only do I help them understand their illness, but I hope I help them successfully deal with the worst illness known to humankind- as they used to say in the 1960's- the big "C".

A "Kid Break," you ask? Well my mind went back to a time when I was around fourteen having spent a year living with relatives just outside of Kansas City, Missouri.

In every thing that happens around you always look for the good. This does not mean to excuse any bad behavior, but instead look for the reasons why such behavior is occurring.

Life is not designed to be easy. If there is any doubt, just look back at what your own birth and delivery were like. It is not the struggles that make or break us, but how we deal with and handle the challenges that we face daily.
