Russ,

As a county commissioner, I have nothing to do with Smoke on the Water, and thank-you for saying "all of us share your emotions over politics," because I assure you "all of you" don't; however and moreover, I obviously appreciate folks like you.

As owner and publisher of Beaufort County Now, and owner of the proprietary script, Symbiotic Publisher, that powers BCN, I have charged myself with producing the most effective, and productive informational platform in the region, which we have done with BCN. The traffic we get through BCN is rather outstanding.

Remarkably, I was not sent any notice of Smoke on the Water, except just one a few short days before the event from the Chamber of Commerce, and most especially, I never received a press / promotional package on Smoke on the Water. The way I have to look at this is: We built the information platform, and we, and our contributors create enough quality content to keep our traffic totals extremely high. I will supply space, and I will take my time to upload all quality information provided for these events, for the price of NO CHARGE; but I am not providing a proverbial "babysitting service" to those who won't or don't know how to, perform their respective jobs.

Sometimes you have to wonder: To what extent these people want to promote their events - if at all?

Stan, what happened to smoke on the water this year? The car show moved out of downtown? WTH, I asked a guy directing traffic and he told me he didn't know where the car show was. So I didn't bother to go...then I saw a guy later in the afternoon who told me it was at Pecheles Ford? I went out there but didn show or register...just over 50 cars showed up compared to over 120 last year. I know you look after us in this town as all of us share your emotions over politics and all, so maybe you can tell me. I hear the Rotary club moved by the city manager Jay.....Russ Krainiak
