Community Health Systems has withdrawn its offer to take over the Beaufort Regional Health System following an injunction members of the community had filed by a Superior Court judge yesterday.
In a letter dated January 11, 2011, from Kenneth D. Hawkins, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Development, Hawkins indicated that the reason CHS has withdrawn was the conflict that has ensued since the Hospital Board split 5-4 in its recommendation to the Commissioners.
