Traffic is Key

March 1, 2010: Beaufort County Now is using a new script to power its information platform, and therefore, we have accordingly changed the look and dynamics of the website.

One of the upside features is that we have shortened our home page, which we give us a faster loading time and consequently gives us a more compact space to feature our articles, and also the ads of our sponsors. We have also gained 8 section pages that directly linked from the horizontal navigation bar below the header. This navigation bar links to the section pages, which, in turn, link to the category pages. We have the capability to provided 0 to 3 horizontal ad spots (depending on content) on the section pages and one 1 ad each on the category pages. A price list list is listed below.

Accordingly to necessitate these changes, our traffic pattern has become consistent after jumping much higher back in October, 2010.

Here below, just above our revised Advertisement Campaign Schedule, we offer this manifestation of our traffic statistics from June to January, plus January's daily stats. In January, even though our traffic is up and leveling off, we made our record across all four metric categories: unique IP addresses (visitors) at 620 per day, page views at 2069 per day, files accessed at 40,514 per day and hits at 45,644 per day. These steady traffic increases should continue since Beaufort County Now currently has over 25,000 pages indexed in Google. BCN, in our first 16 months of publication has become a large, and growing information platform.
