Randy Ramsey is not that person | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's note: We are receiving a good many short missives suggesting that Randy Ramsey is a RINO, and that he does not take his electorate responsibility seriously. We make no assertion to the veracity of this information; however, many others, from Mr. Ramsey's home region, have made these claim, and that is most troubling.

To counter these profound and rather robustly offered assertions, we, at BCN, offer whatever space that Candidate Ramsey and his supporters need to adequately refute these damning claims of Mr. Ramsey's disloyalty to the Conservative principles that guide real Republicans, or this last missive that suggests that Candidate Ramsey does not take his position in this citizen electorate. We, at BCN, are here to help all who wish to express all polite and representative expression of the intrinsic principals that make us who we really are.

At the Republican Men's Club in New Bern, Randy Ramsey, when asked if he hires illegals; said that he has four with green cards because they had skills that couldn't be found around here. I thought we had some of the best boat builders in the country here that need jobs.

I met one of his Mexicans at early voting in Newport. I asked her if she was there to work for a candidate since she was there four hours before early voting started. She said she was there to work for Randy. I then asked her if she worked for him and she said she was a 'private contractor'. I asked her if she worked at Jarrett Bay. She said that she worked in the office. I guess office work is one of those skills than couldn't be found here.

Could one of Randy's 'private contractors' maybe drive a bus between Havelock and Jarrett Bay that I've been hearing so much about?

I've talked to five of Randy's former employees. Maybe they never had the 'needed skills'.

It doesn't bother me that Randy is one of those trying to beat the residents of Marshallburg out of their harbor, but the residents there may care!

Since I'm not involved, it doesn't concern me that since Randy has practically taken over the Big Rock-Blue Marlin tournament, he has made his friends 'paid' trustees; but the charities that used to get the donations may be concerned.

Randy's ads say he is a native of here, but he actually moved here from Kinston as a teenager.

His ads also say that he started his boat building business from scratch, or from the ground up, when actually Mr. Jim Luxton started it and asked Randy to join
him.

I have been putting up political campaign signs for 28 years and I've never touched a sign that I didn't put up, but I have heard of one of Randy's that someonehad written on. Having not seen that sign I have no clue as to who did it.

Besides, I don't know of anyone named Melissa and the only Doll House I've ever heard of was a strip joint outside of Raleigh. I've driven past it years ago, but never stopped. So that doesn't concern me either, but evidently, from the stories being told, someone knows something.

At Randy's 'meet and greet' barbecue in Newport on the 21st of April, one of his helpers put on Face Book that there were 200 people there. A man in Newport, where I live, said there were about 20 in attendance. Another man, that was there, said there were about 80 and it was over early due to lack of participation.

I was at the Republican District Convention on the 21st. Thom Tillis and Harry Brown were both supposed to be there, with Thom being the main speaker. Both were no shows. Were both or either in Newport with Randy?

Now what really concerns me is all the fabrications and lack of character of this person who wants to be our State Senator. I want someone honest and of good character to represent me in Raleigh and I hope voters in our three counties do also.

Randy Ramsey is not that person.
