    The Washington City Council, meeting February 27, 2012 in the Committee of the Whole, among other things, heard the City Manager give a mid-year financial report. You can get all the details in the videos below as he goes through the slides. What you hear that is most important is that he projects that they will end the fiscal year at nearly a breakeven point. He explains how he arrived at this projection by revenue revenue and expenditure projections on a month by month basis over a period of time and projecting what those monthly variations will be until the end of the year.

    Breaking even would be a significant improvement for the City. It has been spending considerable more than it has taken in for several years in a row. So what the Council was hearing is good news, assuming it works out as projected.
