For immediate release:
On January 26, 2012, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team and members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division executed a search warrant at 1224 Maple St., located in the Quail Ridge apartment complex in Washington. The search warrant stemmed from members of the Narcotics Unit conducting controlled purchases of crack-cocaine from individuals at the residence. As a result of the search warrant the Sheriff’s Office seized over 38 grams of crack-cocaine, over $500 in cash, marijuana, digital scales containing cocaine residue, plastic baggies used to package controlled substances and a plastic container used to manufacture crack-cocaine.
When there are narcotics for sale, there is always cash here on Maple Street.
As a result of the search warrant the Sheriff’s Office arrested Eric Wilson Toney, age 39, of 357 E 15th St. Washington, Bruce Tyrell Scott, age 27, of 577 Cherry Run Rd. Washington, Jerrod Omari Carter, age 23, of 134 Manuel Drive Washington, Amos Lee Wiggins, age 22, of 1224 Maple St. Washington, Charlene Julicia Holland, age 23, of 1224 Maple St. Washington and Artisha Lynette Pender, age 25, of 901 E 8th St. Washington. All individuals were charged with Level I Trafficking in Cocaine, Conspiracy to Traffic in Cocaine, Manufacture Cocaine, Maintain a Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity, Possession of Less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Eric Toney was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $300,000 secured bond. Bruce Scott, Jerrod Carter, Amos Wiggins, Charlene Holland and Artisha Pender were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under $150,000 secured bonds.
