Beaufort County Sheriff's Department uncovers a second cruelty to animals situation

   On November 29, 2011,
John Lynn Asby, Jr.
the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of animal cruelty from Beaufort County Animal Control. Animal Control Officers and Investigators executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on Boyd Loop Road in Pinetown and found multiple pit bulls on the property. During the investigation, Investigators learned medical procedures were being performed on the canines at the home without veterinary assistance.

    As a result of the investigation, Lieutenant Jamie Cahoon applied for and obtained warrants charging John Lynn Asby, Jr., age 20, of Boyd Loop Road in Pinetown with six counts of Felony Cruelty to Animals. On January 5, 2012, Asby was arrested and transported to the Magistrate’s Office where he was brought before Magistrate Donald Sadler. Asby was held on a $5,000.00 secured bond and later released.
