Beaufort County Sheriff's Department makes another drug bust

Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Poindexter Murray, age 34, of 118 Big Hill Rd. Edward and David Stilley, age 39, of 18090 NC Hwy 33 East Blounts Creek. Their arrests stemmed from the Sheriff's Office receiving several drug complaints in the Edward area involving the sale and distribution of controlled substances. Investigators in the Drug Unit conducted surveillance and witnessed Poindexter and Stilley at the Veri Kwik gas station in Edward. Investigators approached Poindexter's vehicle and smelled the odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed crack-cocaine and marijuana packaged in plastic baggies and $555.00 in currency.

    Stilley was found to be in possession of a crack-cocaine smoking pipe. Poindexter Murray was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession of Less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle to Facilitate Drug Activity, Resisting a Public Officer and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. David Stilley was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug

Paraphernalia. Murray was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond. Stilley was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $300 secured bond.
