Kim Jong Il is Dead

North Korean state television has reported that the 69 year North Korea Leader had passed on. The domineering dictator of a poor, pathetic nation, who could not feed its people, but found the resources to struggle to acquire nuclear weapons, suffered a stroke in 2008. Today, after 13 years of serving in a position of North Korea's supreme leader, Kim Jong Il is finished.

The North Korean government is one of the few true Communist / Dictator governing models remaining in this modern world, and their people have suffered accordingly. Since the end of the Korean conflict in 1953, when Kim was but a young preadolescent, the North Korean people have struggled to find a way to sustain themselves, while the South Koreans below the 38th parallel's DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) have thrived, and today are members of one of the most stable economies in Asia.
Despotic Dictator Kim Jong Il is dead: Above.

Today, as news spreads throughout the region of the diminutive Dictator's corporal demise, the South Korean Kospi is down around 4%, as concerns mount that, even though Kim Jong Il's despotic reign has ended, a power vacuum will emerge, since there is little governing infrastructure to support an orderly transfer of power. Such has always existed in the Communist dictatorships that have long plagued the modern world.
