Report on November School Board meeting

Publisher's Note: This article originally appeared in the Beaufort Observer.

The Beaufort County Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday (11-22-11). Because the meeting was one of the shortest in recent memory, we are posting the video of the entire meeting, divided into short clips to facilitate downloading and eliminating "black space." Click here to review the agenda and backup material for the meeting. This file also contains minutes of previous meetings.

The first video clip contains the Call To Order, routine housekeeping items and the Character Education Awards.

The second clip contains the Clean Schools Award, the Tobacco-Free Presentation and a review of a new policy on Field Trips and Extra-Curricula Activities. See Page 13f at the link above. The board then went into closed session.

After the closed session the board then came back out in public session and approved the personnel list, a field trip, and dealt with calendar and announcements.
