College for Kids Scholarships
At the request of St. Peter's Church ECW group, Julie Crippen talked about College for Kids, the Culinary Arts program and Con Ed classes. She gave course catalogs and response cards. She had three people sign up who were interested in the culinary program. The group had given $540 to our scholarship program for College for Kids this past summer. They told me they would like to fund student scholarships for College for Kids again.
Partner for a Skilled Workforce
Stacey Gerard spoke to the Committee of 100 on the partnerships we maintain through engagement, conversations, and contributions with community businesses, organizations and stakeholders. Through these partnerships, the college is able to obtain the feedback and resources needed to design relevant training and supply a skilled workforce for Beaufort County.
Advanced Manufacturing Open House
The faculty and staff of the Division of Business and Industry put a lot of hard work into putting together a wonderful open house in conjunction with Advanced Manufacturing Week.
Golf Tournament Raffle
Leading up to the golf tournament, you can win this kayak for $5 a ticket or three for $10. Tickets are on sale at the Foundation Office and the drawing will occur on Oct. 20. This raffle will support scholarships and emergency grants. The foundation is still looking for auction items. Read more about the golf tournament and silent auction.
President Search Survey
The Board of Trustees is seeking your input on qualities for the next president. Please take the time to fill it out. You may have to enter "NA" if you do not have comments.
Men of Success Car Wash
The Men of Success carried out there car wash fundraiser despite the drizzling rain. Thank you to everyone who helped out.
Join the High Five Campaign
The following people are participants in the High Five Campaign, donating at least $5 a month to the BCCC Foundation's emergency grants for students. Emergency grants are used to keep students enrolled through assistance with tuition, books, fees and catastrophic events. I want to thank the following people for contributing to the campaign and hope to see this list grow.
