Beaufort County NOW's Best Month to Date: December, 2015 | Eastern North Carolina Now

October, 2015, was our best month in readership and November, 2015 was our best month for Unique IPs, but now that is very old news.

This post should have been written over two weeks ago, but with all that has transpired, I have been busy of late, and I have written very little about many things, so, with most of these unwritten words still whirling around in my head, here goes. In short: 1) December, 2015 was the best month we have ever known in both readership and unique IPs, besting both October and then November respectively; 2) January roared in with a bang, and then fell dead in its tracks, as our server went down for 12 hours, and as struggled to 'right the ship', we experienced the corruption of 10 database tables, thereby losing over 700 posts, which was extremely disconcerting.

Disconcerting is well below hyperbole, as we worked frantically to recover posts, and correct broken links within those recovered posts. And now, fortunately, we have recovered nearly 80% of those posts, and have created tools to find more as we make the time to do so. All this achieved while staying current with our contributors, and re-continuing with the development of new projects that will not only keep BCN at the forefront of readership of all online publications originating in northeastern North Carolina, but developing other leading edge marketing tools to help others showcase their wares with the best, and proprietary, internet tools that I am discovering, only we can provide locally - at least at the level of their creation.

Continuing with the traffic brag, the single component that influenced this knowledge that December was our best month was the jump in Unique IPs over our previous best month of November, 2015, an increase of 17.12%. Unique IPs is the 'gold standard' for evaluating internet traffic.

With words as spare as I am capable to provide, I present the table of our traffic, with a few milestones achieved in the process:

Milestones for Beaufort County NOW: Our Growing Readership in December, 2015

     •   Most Unique IPs visiting BCN per day in December - 13,234

     •   Third Most Unique Page Views per day in December - 231,670

     •   Second Most Hits per day in December - 315,541

     •   Most days of Unique IPs over 10,000 per day visiting BCN in December - 30 days. Consistency?

     •   Most days of Unique IPs over 11,000 per day visiting BCN in December - 28 days. Consistency again?

     •   Most Readers per day in December - 44,550 based on the metric of 5.2 page views per person, with unique IPs at the level as they are presenting themselves here now. Volume?
