(Washington, N.C.) - Beaufort County Medical Center recently received rocker gliders for patient rooms in the Women's Services department through donations made to the Hospital's Lights of Love fund and through a special donation from Eastern Radiologists. The rocker gliders are for patient rooms where new parents and their babies stay after delivery. The gentle motion of rocking a new baby has proven to be soothing for both the parent and the infant. "This is a very nice addition to our department and one that will be beneficial to our patients and their families," said Joyce Baker, Nurse Manager for Women's Services at BCMC.
Donations to Lights of Love are used to fund projects that promote health care education, improve community wellness, support and enhance patient care, or provide amenities that make our hospital more comfortable for patients and visitors. "We extend our special thanks to Eastern Radiologists and to those who give to our Lights of Love fund for making this gift possible," said Susan Gerard, Chief Executive Officer.
Beaufort County Medical Center is committed to providing families with the best birthing experience possible in modern facilities with warm, personal care. Our modern Labor and Delivery suite includes four labor and delivery rooms, a designated operating room and recovery room for C-Sections and a nursery. Our expectant mothers labor and deliver in the same room and are provided one-on-one nursing care, a benefit not always available at a larger birthing center.
